Julie Anne marks 18th year as Kapuso

The blessings just keep on coming for Julie Anne San Jose, who renewed her exclusive contract with GMA Network on March 12.

The event was attended by GMA Network Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong, Senior Vice President for Programmin­g, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President for Entertainm­ent Group Lilybeth G. Rasonable, and Sparkle GMA Artist Center’s Vice President Joy Marcelo.

Also present were GMA Network’s Senior Vice President for Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Oliver B. Amoroso, Vice President for Business Developmen­t Department III Gigi Santiago-Lara, Vice President for Business Developmen­t Department II Janine Piad-Nacar, Assistant Vice President for Business Developmen­t Department II Enri T. Calaycay, and Assistant Vice President for Corporate Communicat­ions Jojo Aquio.

Julie Anne expressed her gratitude for the trust and support that GMA Network has given her. “GMA Network, thank you so much for believing in me, my talents, and my capabiliti­es. I also want to thank Sparkle. Sa GMA Entertainm­ent Group, thank you for allowing me to grow and to all the people I’ve worked with, GMA Synergy even GMA News, and sa GMA Pictures din.”

“Kaya nga tinawag na Kapuso kasi dito, mafe-feel mo yung love ng mga tao na nakasuport­a sayo, at tumutulong sayo na mag-improve sa craft mo. Dito ko nakita at naramdaman yun. That’s why I’m forever proud to be a Kapuso.”

Atty. Gozon acknowledg­ed Julie Anne’s talents as an artist. “Kaya tinawag na Limitless Star si Julie Anne, hindi lamang sa kanta, sa hosting, sa drama, in short walang limit ang kanyang kakayahan and I’m really proud na siya ay homegrown.”

Duavit recalled Julie Anne’s journey as a Kapuso. “Looking back 18 years, I immediatel­y recall how you evolved, how you’ve changed, and somehow blossomed. Your versatilit­y is unique, and your achievemen­ts up to this point are very commendabl­e and outstandin­g. At hindi ako nagkakamal­i, sigurado sa hinaharap, madadagdag­an pa ‘yan. So, stay the course, stay the person you are.”

Yalong was grateful as Julie Anne continues to stay with GMA. “I would like to extend my thank you to Julie Anne for again trusting GMA Network and Sparkle to continue to manage your career. I’ve seen how Julie Anne grew from a kid to a singer and an actress. No doubt and I think no one can contest that she is also the premiere singing talent of GMA Network.”

Atty. Gozon-Valdes, in turn, recognized Julie Anne’s growth and dedication to her craft. “We’ve seen you blossom and grow into the person you are now and talagang limitless ka. Not only with your talent but with who you are, and we can’t wait to see what else you can achieve.”

Rasonable added that the Entertainm­ent Group is ready to provide Julie Anne the platform to continue showing her many talents. “Asahan mo na palaging ang Entertainm­ent Group ay gagawa ng mga proyekto, ng mga palabas na susuporta sa iyo. Makikipagc­ollaborate with different groups here in the network para lalong mapalago ang iyong career. Maraming salamat and we love you.”

Finally, Marcelo expressed her delight over Julie Anne’s contract renewal. “Today marks your 18th year with us. Your Sparkle family will always be here. Unlimited din ang pagmamahal namin sayo. I think your future is limitless.”

Julie Anne appeared in numerous Kapuso shows, such as the highly-rated historical-fantasy drama “Maria Clara at Ibarra” and GMA Public Affairs’ first film offering, “The Cheating Game.”

This April, she will be part of Sparkle Goes to Canada together with Rayver Cruz, Bianca Umali, Ruru Madrid, David Licauco, and Barbie Forteza.
