So far no illegal vape oils in CV

-

Following the seizure by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Manila of cannabis oil, marijuana kush, and assorted vaping devices last March 14 in Taguig City, the PDEA-7 said that they have not yet received information about, or monitored, or seized such items in Cebu and Central Visayas.

Intelligence Agent 3 Jonar Cuayzon, chief of the Intelligence and Investigation Section of the PDEA-7, said that using marijuana has ill effects, is hazardous to humans, and is addictive to users.

“Primarily, ang marijuana is naa g’yuy effect because it is a cannabis, di ba? Same as the marijuana plant kana ilahang mga intake and naa siya’y hazard sa lawas sa tawo. And it is addictive,” Cuayzon said.

He reiterated that selling and using marijuana in any form, such as vaping, is illegal, and it doesn’t have permits.

He added that they are still studying the said report so they can have complete information to be used in assessing their preventive measures.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office-7 spokesman Police Lieutenant Colonel Gerard Ace Pelare clarified with Cebu media that no similar reports were monitored in the Central Visayas Region.

He further said that the confiscation of those illegal vape oils in Taguig City should serve as a stern warning to the manufacturers and users of those items or other forms of illegal drugs, which may result in their arrest.

“That is a violation of Republic Act 9165, and you can be arrested. So we will remind our police officers on that matter,” Pelare concluded. -Adelyn Landiza/BRP
