COI launches Silver anniversary fun run and bike
In line with their 25th anniversary celebration, the Cebu Orthopaedic Institute will he holding the COI Silver Anniversary Fun and Bike two months from now.
The members of COI led by their CEO and managing director Dr. Jose Flordelis formally launched the twin sporting events in a press conference on Thursday, April 25, at Eddie’s Restaurant.
“Why run and bike? Because these are the most popular sports right now and the easiest for every one to engage in,” said Flordelis. “Some of our members also are into triathlon, so we are really geared towards athletic activities.”
“We want to be at the forefront of promoting fitness for everyone,” chimed in Dr.Charles Andrew Chu-Santos.
“We are advocates of maintaining wellness and physical health,” added Dr. Paula Veronica Palma.
Others present were doctors Jose Antonio San Juan, Judith Valerie Akol, Philip Ian Barlaan, Mario Chan, Richard Condor, Jonathan Flordelis, Miguel Go, Precious Grace Handog, Leopoldo Jiao III, Jan Princeton Lim, Hester Renel Palma, and Robinson Uy.
Slated on June 2, the Fun Run features the 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70-above age groups spread in four distances, according to race director Joel Juarez of Coco Running.
Entry fee is pegged at P700 for the 3km, P800 for the 6km, P900 for the 12km and P1,000 for the 16km inclusive of a shirt, race bib, snacks, and medal.
Early birds or those who will register on or before May 15 will enjoy a P100 discount.
On the other hand, the Bike is set for June 8 covering 10km for Bike B, and 21km for Bike A.
