DAR distributes land ownership to farmer- beneficiaries
DIPOLOG CITY - The Department of Agrarian Reform ( DAR) has recently distributed 125 hectares of Certificates of Land Ownership Award ( CLOA) to 68 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries ( ARBs) in Zamboanga del Norte held in Gutalac town.
Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Mohammad Dassan J. Adju and Gutalac Mayor Onesimo L. Coma, Jr led the distribution of CLOA that covers a total area of 125.6651 hectares.
The municipality of Gutalac covering Barangays Lux, Matunoy and Buenavista has a total land area of 113 hectares.
Meanwhile, the municipality of Labason has a total land area of 12.6251 hectares for barangays Lawigan and La Union.
“The lands awarded to you are only the first step towards true agrarian reform. You need to cultivate it and make it productive, in that way it will improve your way of life, “Adju told the farmers.
Mayor Coma also expressed his gratitude to DAR for helping his constituents own the land they had been tilling.
“The distribution of land titles is a manifestation of DAR’s commitment to help alleviate the lives of the ARBs. Never sell it, consider it as your greatest possession,” Coma said.
Others in attendance during the awarding ceremony included DAR Chief of Operations Marcelino Soropia, Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer Ranroy Credo, Development Facilitator Rogelio Undap and Vice Mayor Herminio Jamandron.
