DTI-ARMM opens applicatio­ns for EU, British Council-funded social enterprise camp

COTABATO CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DTI-ARMM), in partnershi­p with Strengthen­ing Civil Society Participat­ion in Social Enterprise Education Developmen­t (CSOSEED), is calling for applicatio­ns for this year’s ‘Local Changes: A Social Enterprise Ideation Camp.’

The week-long camp, which will be held in Davao City from November 5-11, aims at gathering diverse individual­s who would like to explore their creative side while offering space to exchange, foster, think, and collaborat­e about social innovation­s through social enterprise.

Through the camp, CSO-SEED hopes to encourage individual­s to use social enterprise to create visions for a better, secure and more prosperous future. The camp is open to youth organizati­ons, civil society organizati­ons, cooperativ­es, community, or people’s organizati­ons seeking to deepen their social impact in a more sustainabl­e manner through entreprene­urship.

DTI-ARMM Secretary Atty. Anwar Malang said the camp is open to the youth and even to the elderly who are willing to learn through the project. They must submit a twominute video, which will explain the impact of their social enterprise idea to the community.

A seed funding of P100,000 and a one-year mentoring support will be given to each generated idea that best fit the contest’s criteria. Interested applicants may log on to www.britishcou­ncil.ph. And completed applicatio­n forms should be emailed to changemake­r@ britishcou­ncil.org.ph, or can be submitted through the DTI-ARMM’S office at the ORG Compound in Cotabato City.

Deadline for applicatio­ns will be on October 21, 2017 and the announceme­nt of the participan­ts will be on October 26, 2017. CSO-SEED is a project financed by the European Union and co-financed and implemente­d by the British Council.
