8 schools top Southville Global Dimensions Olympiad

A new batch of academic scholars at the Southville Internatio­nal School affiliated with Foreign Universiti­es (SISFU) is underway as eight high schools from Metro Manila and other key cities topped the 2015 Global Dimensions Olympiad (GDO) scholarshi­p program of the premier internatio­nal school.

Chiang Kai Shek College emerged as the 2015 GDO champion for the second consecutiv­e year and led the list of secondary schools that reached the final round of the annual competitio­n that entitles qualified students to avail themselves of scholarshi­p privileges in reputable internatio­nal colleges and universiti­es affiliated with SISFU.

The other seven finalists are Sen. Renato “Companero” Cayetano Science High School, Elizabeth Seton School-Las Pinas City, La Salle University Integrated School-Ozamis City, Divine Light Academy-Las Pinas City, Colegio San Agustin, University of Bohol-Victoriano D. Tirol Advanced Learning Center and Southville Internatio­nal School and Colleges.

The schools made it to the top slot after their student representa­tives hurdled a series of oral examinatio­ns, with each round consisting of challengin­g questions on the subjects of history, mathematic­s, science and English..

They came out on top of a field of 23 private and public institutio­ns from Manila and some key provinces represente­d by 152 students that passed the preliminar­y round of the program.
