Pinay tops AsPac dental congress scientific paper tilt

Dr. Maria Shervy Monica Villareal De Cerqueira of the Philippine­s topped the scientific paper contest of the 37th Asia-Pacific Dental Congress held from April 3 to 5 in Suntec, Singapore which gathered dentists from 28 countries, plus representa­tives from almost 100 countries.

Scoring 38 out of 40 points for her paper titled “Surgical Techniques for Reformatio­n of the Interimpla­nt Papilla Between Two Adjacent Implants: A Case Series.” She is one of the few Filipinos who earned a postgradua­te diploma from The New York University College of Dentistry after completing a comprehens­ive fouryear Periodonti­c and Implant Program.

De Cerqueira manages the clinics of Villareal Dental Services in St. Luke’s Global and Asian Hospital. She belongs to a family of dentists who shares the same excellency- driven and responsibl­e approach to ensure best quality treatment to their patients – her father, the legendary Dr. Hermogenes Villareal, former chairman of the Asia Pacific Dental Congress.
