Top Spanish school opens doors to Phl
Service to society and a positive impact on humanity are two fundamental goals that helped shape the world-class standards of the Universidad Catolica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM), or the Catholic University of Saint Anthony, which has a0ttracted international students and made it one of Spain’s top learning institutions.
This innovative approach to higher education should be of particular interest to university students from predominantly Catholic countries, including the Philippines, who could certainly consider such core philosophy as a guiding light in their journey towards a professional career.
Nowhere is the commitment to make service an integral part of its academic goals more profoundly expressed than UCAM’s advice to its students to enhance their acquired knowledge and skills by actively doing research activities that will contribute to the development of man and communities.
In empowering students to continue developing their talents and skills, UCAM extends its full support through its worldclass infrastructure that includes laboratories and studios equipped with some of the latest technological innovations.
The educational programs offered by UCAM are many and varied – from Business Administration to Journalism to Medicine and many others – which the students can explore in order to discover the career path they will eventually pursue.
Many of the programs in the School of Business, Social and Legal Science, especially at the graduate level, are taught in English as are degrees in Health Sciences and Sport Science. Tuition fees are subsidized for both European Union and International students and range from euro 6,600 a year to euro 9,900 a year with the MBA costing just euro 7,900 a year for the two-year course. Most degree courses start in October.
Part of the required training of UCAM students is an internship in a public or private institution that will provide them a glimpse of what it would be to work in their chosen field. For the more academically inclined, UCAM provides more than 50 research groups that work in close collaboration with world-renowned corporations, such as Coca-Cola, Danone, Vodafone or Siemens.
