PULP July 2015 issue made for and by ‘slameros’

-

This month’s edition of PULP is all about the largest and longestrunning metal festival in Southeast Asia, PULP Summer Slam. On its 15th year, it featured 15 bands serving up 15 hours of riveting music for over 30,000 fans. But PULP Summer Slam has always been more than just the single day spent in the hallowed halls of Amoranto. For the “slameros,” the PULP Summer

Slam madness began the moment the first teasers were released, and will end as the after-movie resurrects the last few bouts of post-concert depression. It’s a unique experience, and from pre- to post-event, PULP Magazine was there to document.

Relive the metal mayhem through 96 pages of exclusive coverage. Bury yourself in hundreds of live photos, and feast your eyes on the wide selection of mini-posters, featuring the seven international acts Killswitch Engage, Cradle of Filth, Escape The Fate, The Word Alive, Carcass, Chthonic and Suffocation. Gracing the special cover is none other than Chthonic’s Doris Yeh, who perfectly embodies the theme of PULP Summer Slam XV: Angels Descend.

Reminisce about our very own Greyhoundz, Slapshock and Queso as managing editor Cris Ramos Jr. looks back on the rocking history of the returning triumvirate. Read about the Slam journey of Red Horse People’s Choice band, Godzilla VS. Tokyo, as told by the underdog victors themselves.

Revisit 15 years of the Slam, from its humble (though already insane) beginnings at Rosario Sports Complex with 20 local acts, to the annual tradition — nay, pilgrimage! — of the “slamero” army we know today. Discover the answers to your unrelenting queries in the P.S.S.F.A.Q. or Pretty Simple, Still Frequently Asked Questions. Check out the wildest tales of glory from fans, as well as testimonials of the PULP royalty experience — meet-and-greets galore and all.
