Seminar on best practices in succession planning set

-

One of the most important factors in ensuring business continuity and success is choosing the right leaders for the organization. To help multinationals, SME businesses, non-profits, cooperatives, and government organizations in preparing their people in the leadership pipeline, the Center for Global Best Practices is launching a pioneering best practices seminar titled “Best Practices in Effective Succession Planning” to be held on Sept. 10, at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City. View the full details of this seminar and all other upcoming best practices seminars at www.cgbp.org. For queries, contact program leader Anna Andaya through email anna@

Having the right leaders in place will contribute to superior business results more than any other possible factor. Despite this fact, very few organizations invest the right time and effort in ensuring that the right leaders are in place. Some organizations attempt to put into place a succession planning system that simply does not work because of many factors, primarily because they do not understand how to implement effective succession planning.

In this one-day special seminar, learn how world- class organizations set up their succession planning process ( SPP). Participants will be provided with specific and detailed steps of setting up an SPP with examples that can be tailor-fitted to an organization. Learn the most common pitfalls of those who fail to put up an effective SPP and how to avoid or remedy them. For those who have an SPP in place, this is an opportunity to align with the current best practices to make it work better for your organization. The SPP will be discussed as one of the many aspects of an effective talent management process, and other aspects such as training, coaching and development planning aligned with one’s SPP.

This once-a-year event will feature one of the most respected HR expert practitioners in Asia, Robin Michael L. Velasco. Until his retirement in March 2015, he was the HR vice president for six years of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC) which is the holding company of the Philippine’s largest power distribution company, nine of the largest hospitals, the largest toll road network and water distribution company. Prior to this, he was the HR director for Asia in Synovate (now Ipsos, a global market research company), leading the HR function for 12 countries. He was also the HR director for talent management for Asia Pacific for Johnson & Johnson from 2005 to 2007. In both Synovate and Johnson & Johnson, Velasco led the setting up, implementation and management of the talent management and succession planning processes on a regional scale.

Attending this seminar will provide organizations with the right roadmap to select, train and develop the right leaders. Participants are encourage to avail of the group discounts for three or more participants and to register on or before Aug 10 for early bird discounts. Preregistration is required in this limited-seats-only event.
