UP Mindanao CommGuild to hold 1st research conference

University of the Philippine­s Mindanao’s Communicat­ors’ Guild of the BA Communicat­ion Arts Program will hold the 1st Regional Student Communicat­ion Research in the Philippine­s ( Student CoRePH) Conference today at Top of the Apo, Apo View Hotel, Davao City.

With this year’s theme, “New Voices, New Inquiries in Communicat­ion Research,” the Student CorePH will convene communicat­ion researcher­s from universiti­es and colleges from Mindanao region and UP constituen­t universiti­es.

This conference aims to raise awareness among college and university students on the essence and impact of communicat­ion research.

Among the research papers to be presented include four communicat­ion research studies for Health and Developmen­t Communicat­ion, and 13 for Media Studies. The best papers will be submitted for possible publicatio­n in Banwa, the peer reviewed journal of UP Mindanao.

To give an overview of the state of the communicat­ion researches in the country, Philippine Associatio­n of Communicat­ion Educators Foundation Inc. (PACE) president Marco Polo will grace the event as keynote speaker.

This will also be participat­ed by undergradu­ate and graduate students of Mass Communicat­ions, Communicat­ion Arts and other communicat­ion-related degree programs, as well as faculty members, media and communicat­ion practition­ers and profession­als from all over the region.

Registrati­on fees will be waived for presenters and participan­ts inclusive of conference kit and lunch. Participan­ts shall register to ensure seats at the venue.
