When asked about her makeup philosophy, Xeng shares, “There’s no rule book that says you need to do the whole face and nothing but the whole face. There are women who feel naked without false lashes. I find a woman more interesting to look at when a part of her is left undone. And I find that most men feel the same way. I’m not saying we should dress up and make ourselves up for men. But I am saying that yes, we can’t understand them sometimes but when it comes to makeup most men make sense. Men love seeing skin and being able to touch it. So, if you’re hidden under layers of foundation on date night, they’re afraid to get intimate. The makeup intimidates them. It’s important to play up one feature at a time. The choice is yours: flirty eyes, kissable lips or flushed cheeks.”
For the “Hot date” look, one may use barely- there foundation and matte bronzer. Go for neutral eyes and make sure full brows are brushed in place. Set the tone for bold lips. To achieve the “Romantic date” look, use barelythere foundation set with monotone blush tones for lips, cheeks and eyes. Use the blackest black mascara for come- hither eyes. For this look, Xeng used Nars The Multiple makeup stick for the lips, eyes and cheeks. She also used Shu Uemura Whitening Dual Powder Foundation, Maybelline Fashion Brow eyebrow mascara and K- Palette Volume Curl Mascara.
Translate va-va-voom to your “Fierce date” look with barely- there foundation, f lushed cheeks and nude lips to make the eyes pop. Make sure eyes are smoldering with strong full- on brows and loaded lashes. Xeng used Ofra Contouring Palette as base ( light colors to conceal, dark colors to contour), set with translucent loose powder from Koh Gen Do, matte peach blush from Shu Uemura, Urban Decay Basic Naked Eyeshadow palette and K- Palette Eyebrow Mascara.
