Eat healthy, eat Pinoy at Pangulasian Island
Amianan, the main dining outlet of El Nido Resorts’ eco-luxury island, Pangulasian, offers a variety of delectable Filipino dishes to satisfy guests’ fondness and even curiosity for the local cuisine.
“There is a high demand for Filipino cuisine,” says Heidi Hocson, resident manager of Pangulasian Island. “International travelers express their curiosity over Filipino food and even mention that they traveled a long way to visit our country to taste authentic Filipino dishes.”
Amianan Restaurant’s list of local recipes includes guilt-free selections from starters, main course to desserts. Fresh greens grow right from El Nido Resorts’ organic farm, as well as tomatoes, eggplant, watermelon, kale and cauliflower, are placed on the table a couple of hours after they are harvested to ensure freshness. Recommended are the Amianan Filipino Chef Salad, Broiled Eggplant Salad and Warm Vegetable Egg Roll Salad for the health conscious, while sumptuous appetizers include Pangulasian’s fresh catch cerviche and ginger mussels.
For the main course, delight yourself with grilled selections, locally known as inihaw, as the island offers jack fish fillet fresh from the sea and pork skewers. Classic Filipino favorites such as pork belly adobo, tuna
sisig, chicken inasal and chicken adobo simmered in fresh coconut milk are also a must.
Satisfy your sweet tooth with Jackfruit Sans Rival topped with the town’s local delicacy – Palawan cashew nuts, or sample banana leche flan cake, calamansi pie or cassava macapuno cake for dessert.
While these dishes are mainly served at the Amianan, guests may also order food at the beach bar as they celebrate an authentic island experience at the mesmerizing Bacuit Bay at Pangulasian Island Resort.
