12 more drug suspects slain
Twelve more drug suspects have been killed in separate incidents in Luzon and the Visayas.
Three were found dead near the Daniel Romualdez airport in Tacloban City in Leyte yesterday morning.
Senior Superintendent Rolando Badi, Tacloban City police chief, said the bodies of Jason Boclatan, his cousin Wing Jecino and another unidentified woman bore bullet wounds and a placard that read, “wag nyo tularan, pusher ako, Lord patawad (don’t emulate, I’m a pusher, Lord forgive me).”
Boclatan’s partner Kristin Jackson denied that he was involved in the illegal drug trade. She said Boclatan was even part of the anti- drug operations of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Ormoc City.
Chief Superintendent Elmer Beltejar, Eastern Visayas police acting director, condemned the killings.
In Masbate, driver Jose Ty, 31, who was ranked fourth on the drug watchlist of Catangian town, was shot dead in Barangay Poblacion on Thursday night.
Initial investigation showed that Ty was walking along the national road when motorcycle-riding men shot him. He ran toward a store, where he was cornered and shot repeatedly.
Jeffrey Garcia, 31, was killed in a shootout with undercover agents during a sting in Purok 3, Barangay Pandan in Ligao City, Albay on Thursday, said Superintendent Lea Supelana, city police chief.
In Pangasinan, the body of an unidentified man with a note identifying him as a drug pusher and robber was found along Moran street in Barangay West Poblacion in Lingayen town on Wednesday.
Two sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia were recovered at the scene.
Bulacan, Rizal stings
Two men were killed in separate stings in San Miguel and Norzagaray towns in Bulacan yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat Jr., Bulacan police acting director, identified the fatalities as farmer Fil Sayuman, 42, alias Tamang, and Manny Espiritu.
Also yesterday, two men known only for their aliases of Joker Muslim and Charlie were killed in a reported shootout with anti-drug operatives in Taytay and Tanay towns in Rizal.
Five others, who reportedly yielded 10 sachets of suspected shabu, various guns and paraphernalia were arrested.
An unidentified man was killed in a shootout with police officers who responded to a complaint that he robbed a housewife in San Mateo town yesterday, said Superintendent Ruben Piquero, town police chief.
Witnesses said the man was a known drug pusher in the area.
Meanwhile, in Ilagan, Isabela, Roden Balmaceda Sr., 41, was gunned down in front of his house in Barangay Bliss Village on Thursday.
Superintendent Manuel Bringas, Ilagan City police chief, said unidentified men barged into Balmaceda’s house and opened fire at around noon.
Balmaceda was ranked fourth on the drug watchlist of Ilagan. His brother-in-law Honey Hidalgo, the most wanted drug suspect in the city, was reportedly killed in a shootout with police in May.
S. Cotabato drug ring
In South Cotabato, five members of a drug ring, said to be the biggest in the province, were arrested on Thursday.
Randy Calsenia, Joey Baulete, Froilan de la Cruz, Randy Mariveles and Alfredo Tayson were collared in separate operations.
Police said the syndicate is behind the distribution of at least P10 million worth of shabu in the province every month.
