Student shot dead in Laguna

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – A student has been shot dead in Barangay Halang in this city.

Eric Alarcon, a third year student of the Letran University and his girlfriend were walking along Ipil-Ipil street when an unidentified man shot him at around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a report received yesterday by the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) police showed. Alarcon was pronounced dead on arrival at the J.P. Hospital. Superintendent Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon police spokesperson, said probers are eyeing fraternity gang rivalry as the motive for the killing.
