QCPD: Actress’ slain sister not on drug watchlist

- By ROMINA CABRERA

Despite being tagged as an alleged supplier of illegal drugs to celebrities, the slain sister of actress Maritoni Fernandez was not included in the drug watchlist of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), an official said yesterday.

QCPD director Senior Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said they were verifying with other law enforcement agencies reports that Filipino-British Aurora Maria Moynihan, 45, was peddling drugs to celebrities.

A note, which read “pusher ng mga celebrities kasunod na kayo (pusher to celebrities you are next),” was recovered by police beside Moynihan, who was found dead at the corner of Temple Drive and Giraffe street in Barangay Ugong Norte on Saturday.

Police said they also recovered sachets of shabu near her body.

Eleazar said they were coordinating with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to confirm Moynihan’s alleged drug links and the Southern Police District since she lived in Makati City.

Wilkins Villanueva, chief of the PDEA National Capital Region, said they would check their database this week to find out if Moynihan was included in the agency’s drug watchlist.

Villanueva confirmed that Moynihan was arrested along with seven members of the Tinga drug ring when PDEA operatives raided a drug den in Taguig City in February 2013.

Moynihan managed to post bail, Villanueva said.

Eleazar said Moynihan’s stepfather, Eduardo Fernandez, identified the body and confirmed that she was the younger sister of the actress.

Police are scheduled to meet with the family of Moynihan to get a lead on the case.

Moynihan’s remains were brought to the Arlington Memorial Chapels along Araneta Avenue.

Witnesses earlier told police they heard gunshots minutes after a silver Toyota Fortuner parked along Temple Drive.

The suspects dumped Moynihan in the area before fleeing toward White Plains Avenue.
