5 drug suspects slain in Luzon

Five drug suspects, including a former police officer, were killed in separate incidents in Laguna, Camarines Norte and Albay this past two days.

Former Police Officer 1 Arnel Agadia, 40, was driving a tricycle in Sta. Cruz, Laguna when two motorcycle-riding men shot him at around 7:10 p.m. yesterday.

Agadia, formerly of the provincial police, was allegedly engaged in illegal drug activities.

He allegedly failed a surprise drug test when he was still in the police force and has since been absent without leave.

In Biñan City, a certain Bay was killed in an anti-drug operation in Barangay Canlalay at around 5:30 p.m.

In Los Baños, pedicab driver Roberto del Mundo, 43, was shot dead by two unidentifi­ed assailants in Barangay Tuntungin- Putho at around 10:40 a.m.

Del Mundo, said to be a drug supplier in areas surroundin­g the University of the Philippine­s- Los Baños, died while being treated in a hospital, according to Chief Inspector Owen Banaag, town police chief.

In Bicol region, two drug suspects were killed in separate police operations on Saturday.

Former barangay councilman Alex Obis, 39, allegedly tried to shoot it out with police officers during a sting in Santa Elena, Camarines Norte.

Obis reportedly pulled out a gun after sensing that he was dealing with an undercover agent.

Before he could even pulled the trigger, Obis was shot by a police officer.

Probers recovered a .38 caliber revolver, two plastic sachets said to contain shabu and dried marijuana and marked money from the scene of the encounter.

In Albay, Jeffrey Dayto allegedly shot at police officers during an operation in Barangay Rawis, Legaspi City.

In the same day, unidentifi­ed men shot and wounded a suspected drug user in Marilao, Bulacan.

Majumar Montemayor was taken to the Nazarenous Hospital in Meycauayan town for treatment of gunshot wounds in the chest.

Surrendere­e nabbed for ‘pot’

Police arrested a drug user who earlier surrendere­d to Oplan Tokhang for possession of dried marijuana in Banayoyo, Ilocos Sur on Saturday night.

Rodelio Guyo, 22, was arrested while being treated in a hospital for injuries he sustained from a motorcycle accident.

Meanwhile, in Pangasinan, agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency arrested two Nigerians for allegedly conducting a drug session in Dagupan City.

Emmanuel Divine Ugochukwu, 29, and Stephen Samuel Anoruo, 20, were allegedly caught sniffing shabu in their apartment in Barangay Pogo Grande.
