Benjie hops into Palawan Express Pera Padala bandwagon
Basketball player-turned-comedian Benjie Paras is set to delight televiewers even more in the latest commercial of Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP).
Paras co-stars the new TV commercial, which airs this week, with Mommy Dionisia, the three-year mainstay of PEPP advertising and mother of Sen. Manny Pacquiao.
Paras takes on the role of a wacky PEPP employee who turns into a superhero named Super Speed in the new 30-second spot.
Mommy Dionisia, on the other hand, plays a fairy godmother who gives Super Speed with power to serve customers all over the country at lightning speed.
“We always try to keep our TV commercials lively and humorous because the days of tears and drama associated with sending to and receiving money from loved ones are gone,” said Palawan Pawnshop CEO Bobby Castro. “With a vibrant economy, money remittance has become a chore to many so we have to cheer them up into doing it again and again.”
Hopping into the PEPP bandwagon, Paras is expected to boost consumer belief in the brand’s speed of service. PEPP’s trinity of claims — mura (affordable), mabilis (speedy) and walang-kuskos balungos (fuss-free) — embodies the brand’s DNA that is aggressively promised and fulfilled for customers.
Performing as superhero in the PEPP commercial was particularly challenging for Paras. He had to sweat it out, running around the set ceaselessly across hundreds of takes in a synthetic costume.
Also, Paras is immersing himself in the business and his involvement is expected in PEPP-sponsored events throughout the country. Last month, Paras graced the JCI/PEPP 2016 Kasambahay, Kasambuhay Pilipinas Awards in Puerto Princesa City, which formally recognized the exemplary life stories of five deserving domestic helpers.
