Geriatric medicine group’s annual meet set
The Philippine College of Geriatric Medicine, a subspecialty society under both the Philippine College of Physicians and the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians, is an organization of physicians specially trained to meet the unique care needs of the older person and focusing on their quality of life.
The College will be holding its 5th annual convention on Oct. 7 and 8, at the Hotel Novotel, Araneta Center, Quezon City.
The theme of this year’s convention is “Geriatrics in the Philippines: Education, Health Challenges and Megatrends.”
The highlights of this year’s convention will be geriatric research, inappropriate medications in the elderly, geriatrics as a specialty, outcome -based undergraduate education in geriatrics, hypertension and hyperglycemia in the critically Ill elderly and many more.
This year’s convention is important as it is the opportunity for members, fellows and diplomates to update their membership so that they will be included in the submission of the roster of active members to the Professional Regulation Commission in anticipation of the The ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs).
