Go Negosyo toasts women entrepreneurs
Go Negosyo launched the Go Negosyo: Inspiring Stories of 55 Women Entrepreneurs ( Special Edition) book last week which was attended by Vice President Leni Robredo, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, Science and Technology Secretary Boy Dela Pena, Sen. Bam Aquino, Sen. Miguel Zubiri, Sen. Sonny Angara and the Go Negosyo entrepreneurship community.
The book featured the success stories of women entrepreneurs who with passion and perseverance, conquered their respective industries.
Presidential Adviser Joey Concepcion shared the efforts done for Kapatid especially the simultaneous Mentor Me roll outs in different provinces. He also stressed the importance of mentorship to which Vice President Leni Robredo also highlighted in her talk.
Vice President Leni Robredo shared how women proved that there is no limit in excellence. She also mentioned the women empowerment programs which she has been doing with the cooperative groups and women’s groups. She discussed their plan of having a comprehensive roadmap on how to empower women across all sectors in the next six years. Part of this plan is to help micro entrepreneurs level- up and become small and medium entrepreneurs through access to inclusive supply chains. She also highlighted the inclusive business models where big corporations buy produce from farmers. Some fast-food corporations are now buying a part of their vegetable supply from farmers.
Robredo also stressed the importance of mentoring.
“What if every women entrepreneur featured in this book personally mentors women from the fringes of the society who are trying to build their own small business? What if they spent an hour each day to teach, encourage and do some handholding? What if we use the power of mentoring to create pockets of hope among the poor?”, Robredo said.
“What the women in the fringes of the society need is mentoring. There is power in the mere thought that someone like you would care enough. There is power in the idea that you would take time for them,” she added.
As Go Negosyo releases its latest book edition, it also empowers women in the society to take the first step of their entrepreneurial journey with the knowledge that there are successful women who lead companies and industries and are on their road to global success!
