CEMEX 2016 Customer Convention: Building a better future through sustainabl­e partnershi­ps

Building a better future brings with it possibilit­ies for sustained growth and profitabil­ity for everyone. To celebrate the milestones and partnershi­ps that help build a better future for Filipinos, Cemex Holdings Philippine­s ( CHP) recently held the Cemex 2016 Customer Convention, aptly themed, “It’s a Wonderful World.”

Cemex partners joined the event comprised of executives, trade partners, and retailers from all over the country. The Cemex 2016 Customer Convention was held in Shangri- La The Fort for the Luzon leg and in Shangri- La Mactan for partners in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

“Cemex being a reliable supplier to our customers and you being an equally reliable supplier to your endusers are what brought us ahead of the curve,” enthused Pedro Palomino, CHP president and chairman, during his opening message.

As a sign of its strong confidence in the Philippine economy, the company made its Initial Public Offering ( IPO) last July, thus, making a stronger commitment to provide the best service to its investors, shareholde­rs, and customers.

Understand­ing that enabling growth for all creates a win-win situation, the company not only pioneered innovative products and improved operations, but also implemente­d programs that helped customers with their businesses. “We are all in this together. Our relationsh­ip as partners has always been the key to the growth of our businesses,” said Palomino.

Recently, several Cemex programs have been rolled out. These included a 24/ 7 Service Center. Operationa­l even on holidays, the communicat­ions platform enables customers to convenient­ly make orders or inquiries via Viber, multi- network SMS, email or virtual fax.

Cemex also helped its customers conduct their businesses more effectivel­y by organizing the Tatak Experto! Frontliner­s’ Training Program. The customer engagement workshops were designed to elevate retail frontliner­s’ selling skills and product knowledge of various cement types. To date, thousands of hardware store sales staff from hundreds of stores nationwide has received training.

Then, the SHIELD Program or Safety and Health Initiative­s for Enablers, Leaders, and Doers was introduced to extend the company’s health and safety values to its retail and institutio­nal partners. Through the program, hundreds of hardware stores across the country were provided with first- aid cabinets and frontliner­s were given access to prepaid health wallets.

Moreover, the company has developed new competenci­es in its sales team through the Cemex Commercial Academy. More than being able to respond to customers’ needs, the sales personnel were trained to understand their customers’ businesses better and help them with their decision- making process.

Cemex has been continuous­ly improving building solutions to help create sustainabl­e communitie­s for Filipino families. One of these products is Promptis, the only concrete solution of its type to be accredited by the Department of Public Works and Highways ( DPWH), as it allows roads to be opened to heavy loads and traffic within 24 hours after applicatio­n.

The Cemex 2016 Customer Convention was indeed a celebratio­n of the milestones that enabled more growth opportunit­ies, not only for businesses, but also for the infrastruc­ture developmen­t that supports the country’s progress.

Loser coaches Jim and Toni Saret. In fact, customers who traveled from all over the country were treated to some wellness services in the booths prepared at the convention.
