Gas prices up, diesel, kerosene down

Oil companies raised gasoline prices but reduced diesel and kerosene prices effective today to reflect movements in the internatio­nal petroleum market.

Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. has implemente­d an increase of P0.20 per liter on gasoline and a reduction of P0.10 per liter on diesel and of P0.15 per liter on kerosene. These took effect at 6 a. m. today.

SeaOil Philippine­s Inc., Flying V, Phoenix Petroleum Philippine­s, PTT Philippine­s, Eastern Petroleum Corp. and UniOil Petroleum Philippine­s Inc. announced similar price adjustment­s.

Petron Corp. was yet to make an announceme­nt as of press time, but the oil firm was expected to implement similar adjustment­s.

The adjustment in gasoline is the seventh consecutiv­e week of price increase, while the price cut on diesel and kerosene ended four consecutiv­e weeks of price hikes.
