Four more suspected drug personalities were killed in police operations in Bulacan and Cavite in the past two days.

Two were killed in an alleged shootout with police in Rosario town at past midnight yesterday.

Carl Abner Mendoza and his cousin Jayson Mendoza drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to police officers who posed as buyers in Barangay Bagbag 1, said Superintendent Janet Arinabo, Cavite police spokesperson.

Arinabo said the fatalities were on the list of suspected drug pushers in their barangay.

Rommel Dungo, 42, was killed in a sting along MacArthur highway in Barangay Bulihan in Malolos City at around 11:40 p.m. on Sunday.

Ted Oafellas, 52, reportedly engaged police officers in a shootout in Libis Kaliwa, Barangay Duhat in Bocaue town after midnight also on Sunday.

Two caliber .38 revolvers and ammunition as well as nine sachets of shabu were recovered from the fatalities, police said.

P3.2-M shabu seized

Meanwhile, in Lanao del Sur, police seized more than a kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P3 million in Saguiran town over the weekend.

The pack of shabu was found in the car of Rainana Disalo, who was pulled over at a checkpoint.

Disalo’s companion, a 10-year-old girl, was placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Senior Superintendent Agustin Tello, Lanao del Sur police director, and Col. Joselito Pastrana, commanding officer of the 65th Infantry Battalion, said they received reports that Disalo would transport the illegal drugs from Iligan City to Marawi City.

In Maguindanao, around P200,000 worth of shabu and three guns were seized during a raid on the house of municipal Councilor Saiden Utto in Guindulugan.

The raid was based on a warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 13 Judge Bansawan Ibrahim. Utto was not around during the raid, but his wife identified only as Bai was arrested.

Four other drug pushers were arrested in stings in Bacoor City and Kawit in Cavite and four in Cardona and Jalajala, Rizal in the past two days.

Drug-free town

In La Union, Naguilian became the first town in the province to be declared drug-free.

The municipal anti- drug abuse council (Madac) issued a resolution declaring the 28 barangays in the town free of illegal drugs.

“The barangays, families, school, public and private agencies as well as establishments in the town submitted forms given by Madac to validate reports with regard illegal drugs and related activities,” said Naguilian Mayor Reynaldo Flores. –
