Nephrologists to hold convention

The Pediatric Nephrology Society of the Philippines will hold its 21st annual convention on Nov. 21-22 at the Crowne Plaza, Ortigas Ave, Quezon City.

The theme is: Pediataric nephrology must know: From preventive to emergent care.

Invited foreign speaker Dr. Kar Hui Ng from NUH-Children’s Kidney Center, Singapore and local experts will lecture on the following topics: Diabetes mellitus and DM nephropathy, Podocyte directed therapy of nephrotic syndrome, Estimated GFR: Applications and limitations in Asian children, Urinary tract infection: Comprehensive management of neurogenic bladder, Role of urinalysis mass screening, practical approach to obstructive uropathy, Kidneyfriendly diets, Fad diets and herbal supplements, Obesity and its Effect on the Kidneys, Management of hypertensive crisis.
