Olympic silver medalist Hidylin Diaz recently linked up with Mondelez International, formerly Kraft Foods, to help in the company’s service projects that promote healthy lifestyles, overall community well- being and employee growth and development.

Diaz, who snapped the country’s 20year medal drought in the Olympics with that silver medal feat in Rio de Janeiro last August, joined the Mondelez’s employee volunteers at the Nangka Elementary School in Marikina in support to the company’s annual Global Volunteer Month initiative.

In her message, she encouraged the kids to never give up on their dreams.

The Zamboanga native is currently setting up a training gym in her hometown of Mampang for the young athletes dreaming to become like her.

Two hundred employees of Mondelez International have volunteered to spend work hours conducting active play games with students in three different public elementary schools as part of its commitment to protect the well-being of people and the planet.

Mondelez International has actually dedicated the month of October to giving back to communities across 165 countries worldwide, led by employees who answer the call through service projects.

In the Philippines, simultaneous active play games conceptualized by the employees themselves were conducted at the Esteban Abada Elementary School in Quezon City; La Huerta Elementary School in Parañaque; and the Nangka Elementary School in Marikina, which have recently been adopted as Joy Schools, the company’s flagship social responsibility program.

The activities aim to promote the importance of being physically active among students through games such as “Tumbang Preso,” and “Patintero,” and a dance relay of 90s, 80s and traditional Filipino songs, among others.
