Wearing their elegant black attires, members of the Rotaract Club of Metro Mandaue 2006 together with other members from different Rotaract clubs in Cebu gathered last Sept. 3, at Penong’s Restaurant for their second induction of new members and this year’s newly elected officers with the theme, “The block is black.”

The RAC Metro Mandaue 2006 welcomed 11 new Rotaractors during the event. The charging of new members was done by Assistant District Rotaract representative ElcasmerAcedo of Rotaract Club of Metro Cebu. In addition, the new members were inducted by past president Rudy Chua of Rotary Club of Metro Mandaue 2006.

The club also inducted the new set of officers led by Linette Filipino as club president who was charged by past president Rudy Chua. This year’s officers were charged by past president Enrico Menguito of Rotary Club of Metro Mandaue 2006, and were inducted by past president Rogelio Filipino of Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente.

The first induction happened on Sept. 19, 2015 when the club decided to continue its goals and mission after being inactive for the past years. In this year’s theme, “the block is black,” the club aims to promote equality and helping without conditions to all those in need.

“Induction is a celebration of achievements. Reaching one year is one. Beyond everything else, what matters most is to keep the fire of community service burning,” said Linette Filipino, RAC Metro Mandaue president.

The Rotaract which stands for “Rotary in action” is an organization of young individuals sponsored by Rotary Clubs. It promotes professional, leadership and community services which allows their members to enhance their knowledge and skills. The Rotaract Club of Metro Mandaue 2006, together with the other Rotaract Clubs in the Philippines and outside the country, will continue extending hands to those in needs and promoting service above self.
