ANWG joins Women Leadership Exchange 2016
The Philippines has joined the global network of women who adhere and advance the vision “One Family Under God” of the Global Peace Foundation promoting values-based approach to peacebuilding.
As one of its divisions, the Global Peace Women (GPW)Philippines has since 2011 when it was launched, been involved and engaged in activities and projects leading to sustainability and peace.
Spearheading this mission with Filipino womenfolk is GPW- Philippine president Dr. Nona Ricafort, an educator, civic leader and women empowerment advocate.
Currently president of the All Nations Women’s Group, she recently led a 40- member delegation to the Global Peace Women Leadership Exchange to Seoul, Korea where the participants were provided leadership development platform through sharing of best practices among countries and building deeper understanding and cooperation for regional peace in Asia, notably in bringing step closer to Korean unification.
At the opening ceremonies held at Premier Bernoui Hotel in Seoul, president Inteck Seo of GPF- Korea and co- chair of One K Global Campaign said, “the slogan One Dream One Korea means if Korean people dream together with this noble idea, the dream of One Korea can be realized.”
The participants pledged to support the One Korea campaign after the tour of DMZ or Demilitarized Zone described as the place of division between North and South Korea and “recognizes the connection of Korean unification and world peace.”
The Women Leadership Exchange 2016 was highlighted with the signing of the sisterhood agreement among the participants from Japan, the Philippines and Korea.
The signing sealed the sisterhood in “mutual trust and respect to create a family model for national peace by the realization of family values with moral and innovative leadership and service for peace through friendship and cooperation.”
