In celebration of its 20th founding anniversary this November, the Center for Culinary Arts (CCA, Manila) marks its milestone with a string of activities that highlights its unique positioning and future initiatives for the academe and the industry.

With the theme “Sustainability, Innovation and Filipino Cuisine to the World,” CCA, Manila has lined up four major events. Kicking off the celebrations was the “CCA Anniversary Gala Dinner” last Nov. 21 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel. The affair was a collaboration dinner between CCA culinary director chef Sau del Rosario, Michelin- starred French master chef Christian Tetedoie, Disciples Escoffier International chairman Robert Fontana, and EDSA Shangri-La executive chef Scott Brands. Also present were the alumni who brought home the gold from international culinary competitions.

This was followed by a one-day international business conference titled “The Future of Food: Business Directions for Hospitality & Culinary Leaders” last Nov. 23 at the UP Auditorium in Bonifacio Global City. The event featured panel discussions with leading foreign and local thought-leaders as speakers and panelists, the event showcased a powerhouse cast of food authorities and culinary experts as they talked about the most pressing issues facing us today and in the near future.

In recognition of all the outstand- ing graduates who have faithfully committed themselves as the school’s “ambassadors” of culinary excellence and innovation, a “CCA Grand Alumni Homecoming” was held last Nov. 23 at the UP BGC. The affair was a perfect venue to re-connect with CCA friends, former classmates and chef instructors, it was also a fund-raising event for the benefit of the scholars of the Culinary Education Foundation (CEF), the CSR arm of The Cravings Group.

Capping off the grand celebration is the “Clash of Clash 2016” on Nov. 25 at the CCA Katipunan Campus. Now in its 4th year, the much-awaited “Clash of Clans” returns with fiercer competitors, stronger team spirit and brilliant judges. Apart from the fiery cook- off among “houses,” a conference on food and beverage and hospitality trends and developments featuring expert resource speakers, guest students and faculty from other schools is also scheduled.
