Citizen of the World store opens in Cebu
Teleperformance, the world’s leading provider of outsourced omnichannel customer experience management services, recently opened its Citizen of the World (COTW) Store, a corporate social responsibility ( CSR) merchandise shop in Cebu City.
Located at the ground floor of the Teleperformance Tower along I. Villa St. at Asia Town IT Park, Cebu City, the COTW Store aims to raise funds for Teleperformance’s CSR initiatives in the Philippines by selling limited Teleperformance merchandise items such as shirts, jackets, pillow-blankets, umbrellas, tumblers, lanyards, and eco bags.
Established in 2006, the Citizen of the World is the CSR arm of Teleperformance with primary focus on helping underserved sectors of society, particularly children and the elderly.
COTW effectively fosters the culture of employee volunteerism, providing a channel for employees across the organization to work together for the benefit of others in the community.
For this reason, Teleperformance partnered with various institutions promoting different advocacies, which include the National Children’s Hospital, Kythe Foundation, Gawad Kalinga, Philippine Blood Center, Philippine Red Cross, Mary Mother of Mercy Home for the Abandoned and the Elderly, and White Cross Orphanage.
Over the last decade, COTW and its partners have engaged employees in their various initiatives, and have generated thousands of volunteer hours and millions of pesos in donations.
As a testament to Teleperformance’s strong employee engagement and dedication to the welfare of the community, the company‘ s CSR efforts were recognized as the Outstanding Community Project of the Year by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) for two consecutive years (2012 and 2013).
Aside from employee volunteerism, COTW has been equally successful in gathering donations from employees through monthly voluntary payroll deductions. It has likewise engaged its business partners and clients who have been generously supportive and involved as participants in COTW’s various initiatives.
