Lorenzo, 18 others lead World Slasher Cup

The third round elims of 2017 World Slasher Cup Invitational 9-cock derby gets going today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions, the 10-day event began last Monday with 93 entries led by Doc Ayong Lorenzo with two outstanding victories.

A former construction worker, Lorenzo is now CEO of EDL Group of Companies and picked 15- time winner Lemon roundhead as broodcock.

The other two pointers are Virgil Intino, Boy Marzo, Rey Directo, Vic Lacsao, Harold Ramos, Max Benedicto, Boyet Legaspi, Einar Macapagal, Butch Cambra, Paolo Malvar, Niño Yee, Rey Bernardez, Claude Bautista, Lito Guerra, C. Tariman, James Uy, Hermie Capuchino and Buboy Delos Santos.

Hostilities continue on Jan. 26, 27 and 28 with the 3-cock semifinals. Participants with 3, 3.5 and 4 points will have their final rounds (4-cock) on Jan. 29, 30 and 31.

The 4-cock grand final on Feb. 1 is reserved for 4.5 and 5 pointers.
