CGBP launches best teaching practices seminar
With its advocacy of helping schools and learning organizations in the corporate and non-profit sector, the Center for Global Best Practices will bring to the Philippines Dr. Joaquin Gonzalez, author of 12 books and four-time teaching excellence award recipient from three universities where he has taught – the National University of Singapore, the University of San Francisco (twice), and the Golden Gate University which is ranked number 1 Best US College for Adult Learners. He is a US based educator who has creatively energized departments towards achieving the highest student satisfaction ratings and accreditation among American schools.
For his visit to the Philippines, he will teach two topics. His first seminar is entitled, “Best Teaching Practices in the US Classrooms” where he will share his knowledge on world- class innovative ways in engaging 21st Century learners. In the US he popularized the concept and practice of connecting classrooms to communities.
The second topic is “Best Leadership Practices for Chairpersons of Colleges and Universities.” Participants in this seminar will learn successful techniques that chairpersons use, as well as ideal models of administration. Schools must give importance to department chairs because they are the “front line” of academic management, yet most of them receive little or no training for their positions.
The quality of your school’s day-today operations rely on them being the conduits between the dean, the professors and the students.
These two best practices learning events will be held on Feb. 23 and 24 respectively at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.
Interested participants are encouraged to register early to avail of early bird discounts available until Feb. 3 and group discounts for three or more participants. For details and a complete list of -- visit
