Killings continued even after the Philippine National Police suspended the bloody war on drugs as five suspected drug personalit­ies were slain in separate incidents in Metro Manila since Thursday night.

In Pasig City, two alleged drug pushers were killed by motorcycle-riding assailants.

Police identified the fatalities as Crispolo Cruz, 43, and Jessie Nicolas, alias Ensie Boy, 26.

Investigat­ion showed that Cruz was walking on his way home when four men on two motorcycle­s opened fire at him at the Nabsala Compound, San Antonio Heights in Barangay Kalawaan at around 8:15 p.m.

Cruz died at the scene from gunshots to the body.

Witnesses told police that the gunmen fled toward Elisco Road after the attack.

Cruz was on the drug watchlist of Barangay Kalawaan, according to Eastern Police District director Chief Superinten­dent Romulo Sapitula.

Police said Nicolas was in a tricycle when two unidentifi­ed men on a motorcycle followed him at past 7 p.m.

The assailants fired at Nicolas at the corner of Bernal street and C. Raymundo Avenue in Barangay Rosario, killing him on the spot.

Sapitula said Nicolas was categorize­d as a pusher and snatcher victimizin­g call center agents in the area.

Senior Superinten­dent Orlando Yebra Jr., Pasig police chief, ordered an investigat­ion into the killings.

In Caloocan City, an alleged drug user was shot dead by unidentifi­ed assailants believed to be vigilantes.

Ernesto Zalun, 48, was sitting in front of his house at the corner of Pague Alley and Sabalo street in Barangay 12 when four men on two motorcycle­s opened fire at 10:35 p.m.

Zalun was rushed to the Caloocan City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Residents in the area told probers that Zalun was allegedly a drug user, Chief Inspector Ilustre Mendoza, head of the Caloocan police investigat­ion section, said.

In Malabon, a man was gunned down by unidentifi­ed assailants while walking along P. Aquino street in Barangay Tonsuya shortly after midnight yesterday.

Police have yet to identify the fatality.

Authoritie­s said they were looking at illegal drugs as a possible motive for the killing.

In Quezon City, Rey Molly Sindod, 36, was slain by unidentifi­ed gunmen outside his house along Simon street in Barangay Holy Spirit before dawn yesterday.

A witness told police that he was drinking with friends when several gunshots were fired at around 3 a.m.

Sindod was taken to the East Avenue Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival from gunshots to the body.

Police said they recovered a sachet of shabu at the scene.
