- – Emmanuel Tupas

A woman said to be involved in illegal drugs was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.

Cristeta Ramos, 35, was playing cards with a friend at her home in Barangay Batasan Hills when four men barged in at around 12:15 a.m., Police Officer 2 Jomar Pillado said in his report.

The assailants, who wore baseball caps and jackets, asked for the victim’s name, a witness said. When Ramos told them, the men dragged her outside and shot her.

The assailants fled on foot towards Batasan-San Mateo Road, according to witnesses. Ramos died at the scene from several gunshot wounds in the body.

Probers recovered four bullet casings and a sachet of shabu at the scene. Police officers have yet to determine the motive for the killing and the assailants’ identities.
