A summer love
Keith Pua, Filipino- Canadian, and Lesia Lekh, Ukrainian-Canadian, met in the summer of 2010 when Lesia came and was interviewed for a security dispatcher position where Keith was the supervisor.
In December, while celebrating Lesia’s birthday with a group of co-workers, the young couple noticed they had spent more time with each other than anyone else. They had their first date a few days later. Although they were co-workers, they decided to give it a shot but made sure that their personal lives remained completely separate from their professional lives.
In the summer of 2011, they took a six-hour drive south to the US to pick up their Old English Sheepdog puppy, Alvin.
Lesia went on to bigger and better things, leaving the security industry and moving into insurance. Through their years together, they have traveled to a number of destinations, including Jamaica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Chicago, New York City, and Orlando, Florida.
Every Canada Day, July 1, they would go to Celebration Square in Mississauga to watch the fireworks. On July 1, 2015, as the fire- works began, Keith got down on one knee and proposed to Lesia. After saying yes, they watched the fireworks. They got married at the Mississauga Grand Banquet Centre in Mississauga in September last year.
