Filvets to conduct medical, dental mission on Feb 25

In its commitment to provide medical health care assistance to veterans and their dependents, the Filipino War Veterans Foundation ( Filvets) Inc. will conduct a medical and dental mission at the covered court of Philippine Naval Base- Heracleo Alano, Sangley Point, Cavite on Feb. 25 Saturday at 1 to 5 p. m., to be led by Lt. Gen Raul Urgello AFP ( ret), the executive director and chief operating officer of Filvets.

Veterans/ retired soldiers and their dependents are invited to avail of free medical consultation, electrocardiogram ( ECG), bone density test, fasting/ random blood sugar test, blood pressure test, dental check- up, tooth extraction and hearing check- up.

Free medicines for hypertension, cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, osteoporosis, arthritis, allergy, infection, fever, colds, cough, aches and pains will be given to beneficiaries.

Alternative medicine procedures such foot spa detoxification, acupressure and nerve and muscle massage therapy will be available.

Health aid devises such as wheelchairs, walking canes and reading glasses will be given to veterans and spouses in need of these devises.

Doctors, dentists, optometrist, nurses, medical technicians and staff will be on hand to provide the necessary medical services and assistance during the mission.

This event will be held with the support of the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office, Philippine Veterans Investment Development Corp.- Industrial Authority, Veterans – Bank, Filinvest Development Corp. – Misamis Power Corp., in coordination with Veterans Federation of the Philippines, with cooperation of Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Philippine Army General Hospital, Army Support Command, Association of General and Flag Officers Foundation, AFP Mutual Benefit Association, Inc., ACDI Multipurpose Cooperative, Gruppo Medico Internationale, Bright Move Corp. and AZtec Foodgrowers Corp., with volunteers from the AFP/ PNP Ladies Club and Kampilan Peace Keepers Association.
