A ‘closure’ for Rocco & Lovi
More than a year after he and Lovi Poe broke up, Rocco Nacino finally found a chance to have a heart-toheart talk with Lovi that lasted until the wee hours of the next morning. “Finally,” Rocco told movie writers who visited the Encantadia set at a studio in Makati City, “I was able to get out of my chest, kung anuman yung mga dinadala ko.”
For one year, the hurting lover boy was in denial, refusing to talk even when pressured by the press, not even to correct the rumor that it was Lovi who initiated the break-up. “Actually,” Rocco now admitted, “ako ang
nakipag-break. Whatever the reason doesn’t matter anymore. What’s important is that (Lovi) and I are okay now.”
There was a bit of hesitance (ilangan), some ribbing and teasing from the un-couple’s friend stars at the restaurant, until Rocco turned serious and asked Lovi if they could talk. Their companions left them. They talked about what went wrong and what might-have-been, and ended up wishing each other well.
“I felt light when I woke up the next day,” confessed Rocco. “Ang gaan-gaan ng pakiramdam ko.”
Lovi has had one or two romances with foreigners since then while Rocco opted to remain fancy-free.
With the “closure,” according to Rocco, “I can move on and look forward to my next relationship.”
Rocco is being matched with his Encantadia co-star Sanya Lopez. So far, no sparks…
Inah and Jake are ‘on’
Meanwhile, two other Encantadia stars are starting to, as the cliché goes, play beautiful music. They are Inah de Belen, daughter of Janice de Belen and John Estrada, and Jake Vargas, long-time “ex” of Bea Binene. The young romance is blossoming on the set. The confirmation came from Inah herself. “What I like about Jake is his being mabait and a gentleman,” said Inah. “Respectful to everybody at walang bahid ng yabang.”
More admission: Inah has already intro- duced Jake to Mom Janice and Inah’s sisters. Anytime now, she plans to introduce Jake to Dad John.
The question is: How will John react to his “future” son-in-law?
