Three more suspected drug pushers were killed in stings in Bulacan and Isabela yesterday.

Randy Asban and a certain Jayjay reportedly drew their guns when they sensed they had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Mojon in Malolos City at around 1:30 a.m.

A man who has yet to be identified allegedly engaged anti-drug operatives in a shootout in Barangay San Andres in Santiago City.

Meanwhile, two former policemen were among those arrested for illegal drugs since Wednesday.

Rodolfo Gamuyao, 65, was eating lunch at a mall in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental when he was nabbed on Wednesday. The arrest was based on a warrant for illegal drugs and gunrunning issued by the Bacolod City Regional Trial Court Branch 54 on July 1, 1992.

Gamuyao supplied shabu in Western Visayas and introduced himself as an agent of the National Bureau of Investigation, Ferdinand Lavin, NBI spokesman, told a press briefing yesterday.

Sources told The STAR that based on the sworn statement of suspected drug lord Ricky Serenio, who tagged police officers in the illegal drug trade in the Negros Island Region, Gamuyao supplies around 30 kilos of shabu to law enforcers in Western Visayas.

P.5 M shabu seized

Bobby Legazpi, formerly of the National Capital Region Police Office, was collared during a raid on his house in Barangay Malocloc Norte in Ivisan, Capiz at around 5 a.m. yesterday.

More than 50 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P500,000 were recovered inside the room of Legazpi, who is ranked second on the drug watchlist of the Capiz police.

Levi Ortiz, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)Region 6 director, said Legazpi gets his supply of shabu from Metro Manila.

Legazpi denied that he is into the illegal drug trade, saying he is a legitimate businessman. He said he surrendered under Oplan Tokhang after a police official included his name on the watchlist.

He said PDEA operatives planted the shabu found in his room, adding that his wife lost her jewelry during the raid. –
