Whirlpool brings delight to senior citizens

-

Over a million senior citizens are currently in nursing homes. Some are brought in by relatives who believe that their elderly can get better care in these facilities, while others found loitering along the streets are taken in by hospices.

While nursing homes like the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly always give their best efforts to care for and alleviate the emotional stress of their residents, these people still long for affection and attention and their loneliness often lead to depression.

As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, Whirlpool, the leading home appliance brand in the world, organized an outreach program for those residing at the Little Sisters of the Abandoned Elderly in San Juan City, Metro Manila. They held an event to help uplift the senior citizens’ spirits and fill their lives with delight. They also donated washing machines to the home.

“Whirlpool’s thrust to elevate and improve the quality of life of Filipinos not only reflects in their mission to deliver superior products to make lives more delightful, this is also expressed through the CSR programs that the company organizes,” says Joy Catiis-Cruz, marketing manager of Whirlpool Philippines.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Manila-Bonifacio Drive, this event was made possible through the generous support of King Sue Ham and Sausages, Jolly Heart Mate Canola Oil, Champion Detergent, Fujidenzo Home and Commercial Appliances, Hana Shampoo, Happy Day, Dona Elena Al Dente Pasta, Lotus Biscoff, Jolly Foods, Tickle Cotton Buds, Circulan, Mentopas, Rhea Superscent Oil, Casino Alcohol, Bioderm Soap, and Watchmen Daily Journal.
