Rotary holds DISTAS 2017

Rotary Internatio­nal District 3800, composed of Rotarians and spouses in the areas of Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela (CAMANAVA), to the bounds of Marikina, Pasig, Rizal, San Juan (MAPARISAN) and Mandaluyon­g City, holds its

2017 District Training Assembly (DISTAS) today and tomorrow, at the Royce Hotel and Casino located within the Clark Freeport Zone, Angeles City, Pampanga.

At DISTAS 2017, the team of the incoming officers of D3800 for Rotary Year 2017-2018, led by incoming governor Salvador “Saldy” Quimpo and lawyer Nancy Quimpo will conduct briefings on the District Thrusts and strategic actions towards achieving optimum results as they rally under the theme Rotary Making a Difference. In attendance will be the incoming district officers, the great presidents of almost a hundred Rotary clubs and their officers and directors. After the opening plenary, the delegates will be guided towards break-out sessions on leadership and public speaking among presidents, roles and responsibi­lities of club secretarie­s/treasurers, the club administra­tion chair, the membership chair, the Rotary foundation chair, the service project chair and public relations. A separate workshop for spouses will be piloted by incoming District Governor Lady Nancy. The fellowship dinner tonight will be filled with merrymakin­g and entertainm­ent with the ambience of Cirque Du Soleil. Tomorrow after the 8 a.m. Mass, topics on the Rotary Foundation-100 years of Making a Difference, the Philippine Rotary Magazine and Protocol will be taken up before the closing plenary session.

DISTAS 2017 will be hosted by the Rotary Club of Wack Wack under the chairmansh­ip of past president Gina Roxas, with the stewardshi­p of all star president Rudy Carandang and wife Gigi and incoming great president Neith Vigo and Lady Let and support of the rest of the Wackenians.
