Thunder target No. 4 vs Skippers

-

Games today 3 p.m. – Racal Motors vs Wangs Basketball 5 p.m. – Flying V vs Marinerong Pilipino Flying V aims to stretch its win run to four as it battles Marinerong Pilipino today while Racal Motors tries to rebound against Wangs Basketball in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig. The Thunder hope to come out strong coming off a long break with Jeron Teng, Gab Banal, Aris Dionisio, Thomas Torres and Hans Thiele tipped to lead the team again after their 107-96 romp over the Wangs side two weeks ago. But the MP Skippers are going all out to inflict the Thunder their first loss with the former hoping to achieve what they had failed to do against the Tanduay Rhum Masters the last time out when they dropped a sorry 74-76 setback to fall to a 1-2 slate. But with Achie Inigo and Julian Sargent on the firing end Marinero remains hopeful of pulling off a reversal against its fellow newcomer in their 5 p.m. clash. Meanwhile, the Alibaba also seek to recover from their 75-93 loss to the Cignal HD Hawkeyes in their previous outing which halted their 2-0 start and dropped them to fourth with the Rhum Masters.

Wangs Basketball, on the other hand, tries to score a follow-up to its 88-86 squeaker over Gamboa Coffee Mix last Tuesday. John Ambuludto hit the game-winner at the buzzer off a pass by Timothy Habelito.

Wangs is in sixth spot with Centro Escolar University.

“I guess we have the momentum now. We just have to continue what we’re doing. Our chemistry is already evident so we have a chance (against Racal). I hope that the players will continue to display the same never-say-die attitude where, leading or not, they remain focused,” said Couriers coach Pablo Lucas, whose wards take on the Alibaba at 3 p.m.

Racal Motors is expected to draw firepower from Rian Ayonayon, the lone bright spot for the Alibaba in their previous loss, who fired 26 points, along with Mark Tallo and Kent Salado against Wangs Basketball’s Robert Herndon and Michael Juico.
