New hospitals provide high-quality yet affordable health-care services

- By JUSTINE SANTOS

“HEALTH is wealth,” no matter how cliché this overly used quote may sound, it is still undoubtedly and seemingly true. Every person’s health must always be well taken care of. Regardless of their social status or earning capacity, health-care services must be made readily available to them. One vital way of doing that is to have high-quality hospitals.

In a country with a large population like the Philippines, government services like health care may fall out of reach to some Filipinos. Some of them even go to Metro Manila just to get proper health-care services.

As a response to this underlying problem, some of the nation’s privately-owned companies provided more hospitals to cater to the needs of the Filipino people.

Here are three new hospitals guaranteed to offer quality healthcare services. Primed at giving only the best health-care services, these new hospitals reassure that the health of the Filipino people would be in the best hands.

While more popularly known as a real-estate company under the Ayala Corporation, Ayala Land, Inc., together with Mercado General Hospital, Inc., has operated QualiMed, a network of health-care facilities primed at giving affordable yet high quality health-care services.

Just last year, QualiMed opened its newest facility in San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan. Located at the heart of Altaraza Town Center, the hospital has 150 beds and provides “quality care within reach” to people living in and around Bulacan.

Meanwhile, in the Queen City of the South, Cebu City, Chong Hua Hospital has been providing quality health-care services since 1909. It was founded by the Asociacion Benevola de Cebu with the belief that life is important and that no act stands noble as that of preserving or saving it.

Recently, the hospital opened its newest facility in neighboring Manduae City. The Chong Hua Hospital Mandaue and Cancer Center offers more comprehensive cancer services to Cebuanos and other patients from Visayas and Mindanao. It is an 11-story medical facility that has 350 beds catering to a growing number of patients.

Futher south, in the Philippines’ Latin City of Zamboanga, the Metro Pacific Zamboanga Hospital Corporation has officially opened in 2015 what is deemed to be the largest private hospital in the Zamboanga Peninsula, the West Metro Medical Center.

Acquired by Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings, Inc., one of the Philippines’ largest chain of private hospitals, the West Metro Medical Center is a fourstory building that has 110 beds. The hospital is committed to providing high-quality yet affordable health-care services to people in Mindanao.

As these new hospitals arise, the underlying problem of inaccessible health-care services in the Philippines is highly addressed. By being within reach, these hospitals help take care of the health and well being of each and every Filipino.
