Payments to government made easy with BancNet

- By ARGIE C. AGUJA

BANCNET makes payments to government agencies easy and convenient through its online facilities that act as a gateway for the electronic processing of payment among companies, banks and government institutions.

BancNet’s online facilities function as a one-stop shop to process the payment of recurring government obligations as it offers convenience by making payments more efficient and less time-consuming. Companies can pay anytime and virtually anywhere.

Moreover, BancNet’s online payment facilities aid government agencies in their efforts to improve collections and automate process flow as they help reduce long lines at government offices and speed up transactions by migrating processes online.

In 2016, BancNet processed 653,314 payment transactions to government agencies, valued at P130.46 billion. For the first half of 2017, transactions already totaled 635,584, valued at P87.9 billion.

Since 2003, BancNet has been the only accredited payment network for the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) Electronic Filing and Payment System (e-FPS).

BancNet’s e-GOV (Electronic Government System) portal enables the online filing and payment of monthly Social Security System (SSS) and Pag-Ibig contributions and loan amortizations. It also enables the payment of monthly contributions to PhilHealth through the agency’s Electronic Premium Reporting System (EPRS).

To avail of BancNet’s e-GOV, the employer or company, regardless of size, should be an existing employer-member of SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-Ibig. Also, the employer/company needs to open a virtual ATM account, before enrolling in e-GOV. Registration is done onetime only and clients will simply activate the government agency module they choose to use. e-GOV clients should however, still follow their corresponding payment and reporting schedules with SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-Ibig.

e-GOV is available 24/7, however, all transactions are subject to BancNet’s 12 a.m. cut-off. Transactions done after this time are processed on the next banking day.
