ABS-CBN shows top honors at Platinum Stallion Media Awards

ABS-CBN hauled a total of 16 awards including recognitio­ns for ABS-CBN as Best TV Station, TV

Patrol and FPJ’s Ang Probinsyan­o at Trinity University of Asia’s third Platinum Stallion Media Awards.

TV Patrol, the most watched newscast in the country, was named as Best News Program, while seasoned journalist­s Ted Failon and Karen Davila won Best Male News Anchor and Best Female AM Broadcast Journalist, respective­ly.

FPJ’s Ang Probinsyan­o, the country’s most watched TV program, which is extended until January 2018, was hailed as Best Primetime Program.

Other awards that ABS-CBN took home were Best Educationa­l Program (Matanglawi­n), Citation for Best Radio Public Affairs Program (DZMM Usapang de Campanilla), Citation for Best Public Affairs Program Host (Boy Abunda), Best Noontime Show (It’s Showtime), Best Variety Show (ASAP), Best Morning Show (Magandang

Buhay), Best Talk Show Host (Vice Ganda), Best Film Actress (Julia Barretto), Best Child Film Actor (Awra Briguela), Best Male TV Personalit­y (Ian Veneracion) and Citation for Youth Character Model of the Year (Coco Martin).

Trinity University of Asia’s Platinum Stallion Media Awards aims to honor the contributi­ons of individual­s and groups in shaping the media industry in the Philippine­s.

Winners were chosen by the university’s students, alumni, faculty, staff and stakeholde­rs.
