CebuPac waives rebooking fee

- By LOUELLA DESIDERIO

Cebu Pacific has started to waive fees on rebooking or changes made on flight details as it looks to provide customers a better customer experience.

The budget carrier said in a statement, it is no longer charging a rebooking fee on changes on the flight schedule if such are made within 24 hours from the time the original flight was booked.

The move to waive the rebooking fee started on Aug.1.

Previously, passengers who make changes to their bookings such as new flight dates had to pay the P1,500 rebooking fee for domestic flights, or P2,300 for short haul international flights, and P2,800 for long haul international flights.

Cebu Pacific said penalty fees for bookings requiring changes in the flight sequence, would also be waived.

For instance, a passenger who booked a Manila-Cebu flight who needs to change this to Cebu-Manila would not have to pay the cancellation fee.

While Cebu Pacific would no longer ask for rebooking and cancellation fees, passengers would have to shoulder the fare difference.

The move to waive the rebooking and cancellations fees is applicable across all booking channels of Cebu Pacific.

Passengers may also transfer ancillary services such as seat selection, baggage allowance and pre-ordered meals without an additional charge.

“We are in the thick of reviewing our processes to see how we can improve our service to all passengers and make it easier for every Juan to fly. Rebooking and cancellation fees have been a key concern for passengers, especially those who have been able to avail of low fares. This will benefit them as it truly makes flying with Cebu Pacific more affordable,” said Paterno Mantaring Jr., vice president for corporate affairs at Cebu Pacific.
