GMA Kapuso Foundation Inc. (GMAKF), the sociocivic arm of GMA Network, is teaming up with the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) in rehabilitating schools in war-torn Marawi City.

The officers of FFCCCII, led by president Domingo Yap, paid a courtesy visit to GMA Network last Aug. 11 where they announced that they are donating 10 classrooms in support of GMAKF’s Rebuild Marawi Project.

“We are very appreciative and thankful for the donation of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry,” GMA chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon said.

“These are the kinds of things needed by our country to help guarantee proper education for our youth,” Gozon added.

GMAKF EVP and COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog likewise thanked the Federation for helping them adopt schools in battlestricken areas in Marawi City. “We will begin the rehabilitation once the AFP declares Marawi to be safe. We are also going to make sure that each school building will be typhoon and earthquake-resistant,” Escudero-Catibog added.

Yap expressed his appreciation to GMA Kapuso Foundation for giving them the opportunity to contribute to some of its worthy projects.

“We look forward to being a partner of GMA’s corporate social responsibility projects in the future and bring whatever help we can,” said Yap.
