Drug suspect, 4 others slain
After almost a week of zero deaths, a suspected drug pusher was killed as the Bulacan police continued its campaign against illegal drugs yesterday.
An alias Lupin reportedly resisted arrest after selling a sachet of shabu to a policeman who posed as a buyer in Barangay Paco, San Rafael.
A caliber .38 revolver, 1.2 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P5,500 and marked money were recovered from the fatality, said Senior Superintendent Romeo Caramat, Bulacan police acting director.
Caramat said seven other drug suspects, including two minors, were arrested in the province on Tuesday. He said the suspects yielded 15 sachets of shabu and marked money.
“High-value” drug pushers Jerico de Guzman, 40, a resident of Barangay Kapitan, Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija; Richard Pendre of Sapa, Samal, Bataan and Gener Carino, 51, of Sucad, Apalit, Pampanga were nabbed on Tuesday.
Four other persons were killed in Cavite, Pangasinan and Sorsogon in the past two days.
Former councilor Vicente Bonaobra, 65, was talking to someone on the phone along Rizal street in Barangay Central, Donsol, Sorsogon when an unidentified man shot him several times yesterday. Witnesses said the gunman fled on foot.
Sansodi Ali Alomot was in Barangay Burot 1, Dasmariñas City, Cavite when he was shot at around 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
A man who has yet to be identified was found dead near a toll bridge in Barangay Palico 3, Imus. His body bore stab wounds while his feet and hands were tied.
In Pangasinan, the body of a man with multiple gunshot wounds was found near a bridge in Barangay Bocboc West in Aguilar also on Tuesday.
Investigations into the killings are underway.
