- By IRIS GONZALES

The Gokongwei Group is expanding its retail and office footprint in Luzon with the opening of Robinsons Place Naga, Robinsons Land’s first mall in the Bicol region and the 28th branch in Luzon and Robinsons Cybergate Naga.

With the opening of the mall early this month, Robinsons’ total gross floor area is now at 1.4 million square meters.

The mall, which opened on Aug. 15, is just 11 kilometers away from Our Lady of Peñafrancia Basilica.

“We are heartened by the wonderful reception the people of Naga and Camarines Sur have given our newest mall. It was our goal to delight and wow them not only with the exciting mix of shops, restaurants and entertainment attractions but likewise with the little design details that make the mall a very pleasant place to hang out and enjoy,” said Arlene Magtibay, general manager and senior vice president for commercial centers division of Robinsons Land.

The mixed-use development is comprised of a three-level commercial building annexed to a two-level office structure, which could accommodate pilgrims right after the procession to the Basilica, which is a known pilgrimage site.

There is also a wide variety of retail stores, restaurants and entertainment facilities, RLC said.

“With the mall’s anchor tenants such as the Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket, Handyman, and Robinsons Appliances mixed with more features, this newest mall is surely set to be Naga’s favorite hangout place and shopping destination,” RLC said.

Robinsons Place Naga is easily accessible from major establishments such Ateneo De Naga; Naga City Science High School; University of Nueva Caceres; STI College Naga; Bicol Medical Center; Mother Seton Hospital and Plaza Medica.

It is also near different banks including BDO, Development Bank of the Philippines, and Allied Banking Corp., as well as Naga City Transportation Terminals.

For the office space, Robinsons Cybergate has two office floors and a recruitment space on the third floor. It also has CCTV surveillance and 24/7 security.

It is located within the Robinsons mixed-used complex, which also has two hotel chains, the 70-room Go Hotels Naga and the 60-room Summit Hotels Naga.

The building is targeted for completion in the second half.

RLC Office Buildings general manager Faraday Go said the building is registered with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) as an IT Center.

Thus, qualified locators at Robinsons Cybergate Naga may apply for various incentives from PEZA.
