Though unicorns are today widely believed to be mythological creatures, they have been referred to in ancient texts as common animals – no more special than dogs, horses or cows, which is part of the reason that many people believe that unicorns once actually existed and have since become extinct. There is an animal mentioned in the Bible whose Hebrew name is reem, which translates into “unicorn,” although it has also been translated into English as “wild bull.” Some scholars believe that the biblical unicorn was actually a onehorned ox, not a horse at all. That’s why I side with those who say that unicorns exist in some remote region of the world and can be found only by someone with exceptional honesty and virtue – both qualities generally attributed to Taurus.
