4 slain in shootings
Another drug suspect and three other persons were gunned down in Batangas, Nueva Ecija and Negros Occidental on Wednesday.
Glen Reyes, alias Cobra, reportedly drew his gun when he sensed he had sold shabu to undercover agents in Barangay Poblacion, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.
Police Officer 3 Edgar ObaOb and PO1 Ryan Cedric de Guzman were manning a checkpoint near the Police Action Center in Barangay Tinurik, Tanauan, Batangas when masked men arrived in three vehicles at about 10 p.m. and opened fire.
Village watchman Bendio Valencia was hit by a stray bullet and taken to a hospital for treatment.
Superintendent Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon police spokesperson, said they are verifying if the killings were work-related. The victims were transferred to the Batangas police from Rizal last May 15.
In Negros Occidental, Oscar Asildo Jr., 46, an administrative assistant of the Department of Education in Guihulngan, was about to board his vehicle in Barangay Pob-lacion when an unidentified man shot him several times.
Witnesses said another man shot Asildo as he lay sprawled on the ground.
The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Governor William Villegas Memorial Hospital.
In Pangasinan, an unidentified girl believed to be between 12 to 16 years old was found dead along the road in Barangay Sta. Maria in San Nicolas on Wednesday night.
The body of the victim was in an advanced state of decomposition, police said.
Investigations into the killings are underway.
