The Legend Villas celebrates 25

-

Your welcoming home in the heart of Mandaluyong recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with worship activities led by Pastor Gem del Rosario and a thanksgiving dinner for special guests and patrons who have enjoyed the warm hospitality of The Legend Villas through the years.

Wyden King, chairman of Legend Hotels International Corp./Abraham Holdings, recounted how the hotel started. “Legend Villas was planned to be a motel. However, faith intervened and the municipality did not permit a motel to be built on the property. This is why we built

it into a hotel, which became the first hotel under the Legend brand.”

In 1992, he became a Christian and closed down the motel chain that they owned. He then shifted the business mod- into something pleasing in God’s eyes, and brought the love of his new-found faith into the hotel business. Employees have since started including 30-minute devotions as part of their daily group routine, and King feels that this has made an impact on how the heart for hospitality has become ingrained in their company culture.

“We have fostered an atmosphere where there is honor, respect and support for one another,” he observes.

Mario Gozun of Globe Telecom, one of the hotel’s frequent guests, says that he is witness to the warmth of the staff’s service. “I have been coming here for eight years, and what I can say is that aside from the big and comfortable rooms, I really love the service of the people. Whenever you come back, it is like coming back home.”

Ricardo Alba, president of Unilab UNAHCO, shares that he has been coming to The Legend Villas for the past 25 years. “Everyone, from the front desk, to the waiters, we can call them by first name. That is the Legend Villas that I know, it is the same from 25 years ago.”

As the property celebrates its silver anniversary, The Legend Villas continues to delight with its well-appointed modern rooms and amenities and the delectable Filipino cuisine at Lola Maria Restaurant. The hotel has upgraded most of its rooms and is in the process of remodeling the rest of its facilities in order to maintain its standards of being the hotel of choice with a heart for service.
